My DIY Tools from DIY Enthusiast and Part Breadwinner

Interior DIY

Having spent a while serving my time with major DIY chain stores and working with my gorgeous partner who runs Angela’s Interior Design I thought it would be high time to try and get all of my DIY tools and project knowledge on the web.

I have learned over the years that the adages like ‘a bad craftsman blames his tools’ and about being organised, ‘measure twice cut once’ and all these great terms we learned when we were young, are actually pretty much bang on the money.

DIY tools need to be maintained. I have been through various branded DIY tools when I was working for big name house shutters companies using both their own brands as well as several other well known ones, and make no mistake, the price of a tool generally (but not always) equates to the quality, durability and suitability for various jobs. I’ve seen misapplication, misuse and of course accidents happen and I wanted to share this information as a means to bringing back the quality craftsmanship which this country was made strong by, and even though we’ve gotten rid of most primary industries that doesn’t mean we cannot keep traditions going strong.

To Power Tool or to Hand Tool

There are incredible advantages to using power tools, and what person doesn’t enjoy being plugged in and hammering away electrically (or remotely) – well, to be honest Angela my partner for one, but her aside, power tools are great fun, can get the job done quickly but they are not always the ideal tool for the job. I’ve been through countless power drills in my time, but I still have my trusty screwdrivers and hand drill from around 20 years ago. Beat that. There are a great deal of tool brands around, and we go into them on this site, we talk about some useful projects and installations, as well as how you can benefit from selecting the right tool for DIY through our reviews section.

I go into some products that are trendy and current, like window shutters and underfloor heating and also useful stuff for your wallet like making your DIY projects energy efficient.

I hope you find this site useful and resourceful, and any comments please leave them on each section and we will see a wealth of material grow for all the aspiring DIY enthusiasts out there. Thanks for stopping by.
